The Eagles won another defensive struggle over the Detroit Lions a the score of 16-9. The Eagles’ defense continued its great play from the Green Bay game and had at least three sacks against the Lions. The Lions have a good offense, but they weren’t able to do much at all against the Eagles.
In order for the Eagles to have any chance to repeat as Super Bowl champions, though, the offense has to get much better. Quarterback Jalen Hurts has to become a little bit more aggressive and not scared of throwing interceptions. Running back Saquon Barkley seems like he is one step slower than last year. Maybe all the hard work in his 2,000-yard season is catching up to him.
The Eagles are playing the Cowboys in Dallas this weekend. The Cowboys’ passing offense has been very successful this year, but the defense has not been able to stop anybody. This should be a get-it-right game for the Eagles’ offense. Then the Eagles play the Chicago Bears on Black Friday. The 7-3 Bears have been one of the pleasant surprises in the league this year. They have won a number of games after being down late in the fourth quarter.
In 2026, the Phillies will play at the Kevin Costner-created "Field of Dreams" game this year in Iowa. I don’t expect much more baseball news until Dec. 7-11, when the winter meetings take place in Orlando, Fla. Can we count down to spring yet?
The 76ers are still treading water in eighth place in the Eastern Conference, but they definitely need Paul George and Joel Embiid playing more games if they want to improve their position in the conference, they need to somehow decrease the minutes for Tyrese Maxey and rookie VJ Edgecombe, along with Quentin Grimes, or they will be completely exhausted by March and the team will suffer the consequences.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Enjoy watching all the football games and feasting.
Go Eagles!
