Easter Seals welcomes Sallie Price as Camp Fairlee Manor director

May 15, 2013

Easter Seals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore recently welcomed Sallie Price as the new director of recreation and respite services at Camp Fairlee Manor outside Chestertown, Md. A seasoned camp director, Price brings with her a passion for making an accessible camp experience the best possible for the children and adults with disabilities served at Camp Fairlee.

“When I’m at an Easter Seals camp, I feel like I’m at home. I took a huge leap of faith packing up everything and moving here, but I feel like this is where I’m supposed to be,” Price says. “I feel really good about giving back to people who really need this service. Families need respite, and campers need respite from their families. To be a part of that is important to me.”

Originally from Kentucky, Price has an 18-year history serving in Easter Seals camps as director in Washington and Kentucky. Most recently, she served as camp director and healthcare services coordinator with the Muscular Dystrophy Association in Louisville, Ky.

“My passion is camping, and I wanted to get back into it full time again,” she says. “When I was 12, I vividly remember thinking I wanted to go to camp forever.”

Price says she is honored to serve as the camp director of Camp Fairlee. She looks forward to working with the dedicated camp team in providing campers and their families with an exceptional, safe and fun camp experience. Having just moved into the historic downtown area of Chestertown, she is excited to learn more about the area and plans to become actively involved in the community.

Easter Seals Camp Fairlee Manor is the only camp in the region that provides a typical residential camp experience for children and adults with disabilities on a year-round basis.
