Eastern Sussex Dems to meet June 4
Eastern Sussex Democrats will meet at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, at Lewes Public Library, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes.
The guest speaker will be Cheryl Siskin, the leader and motivating force behind Indivisible Southern Delaware. Indivisible is a nationwide movement that arose in response to the result of the 2016 election and has remained active and effective. Founded by former congressional staffers who published a handbook of methods for effective grassroots resistance, Indivisible has grown into a movement of thousands of group leaders and more than a million members taking regular, iterative and increasingly complex actions to resist the GOP agenda, elect local champions and fight for progressive policies.
Siskin earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from George Washington University and her law degree from Temple University. She previously served as a planner for Fairfax County, Va., and served on the Brandywine school board.
There is no cost to attend the June 4 meeting, as no dinner will be provided. To learn more, go to easternsussexdemocrats.com.
