Esther E. Grafton, MS Society retiree
Esther E. Grafton, 96, of Milton passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 14, 2019. Born July 4, 1923, in Reading Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Viola (Earnst) Smith.
Esther lived most of her life in Newark, where she worked for the MS Society, then McBride and Ziegler Surveyors. Upon retirement, she and her husband moved to Lewes.
In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Grafton; and her son, Michael Grafton. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Kirby (Richard) of Milton; her daughter-in-law, Amy Grafton of Milton; her five grandchildren: Gregory Kirby (Laurie), Steven Kirby (Erin), Eric Kirby (Rachel), Alexis Grafton Willey (Chris) and Michael Grafton Jr. (Penny); and her seven great-grandchildren: Abigail Kirby, Brandon Kirby, Morgan Kirby, Caroline Kirby, Graeme Kirby, Hudson Willey and Madilyn Willey.
Per Esther’s request, services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in memory of her son Michael Grafton to Sussex County Habitat for Humanity, P.O. Box 759, 206 Academy St., Georgetown, DE 19947.
