Evan Burris wins DBP Rookie of the Year

Dewey Beach Patrol held its annual rookie test July 17 on the beach at Dagsworthy Avenue. Rookies competed in the run-swim-run, one-mile swim, half-mile run, 220-yard sprint, push-ups, 50-yard swim sprint, line charges, buoy charges and 82-foot stand pull.
Evan Burris, a rising senior at Cape Henlopen High School, took home the title of Dewey Beach Patrol Rookie of the Year.
