The Fairfield Inn & Suites outside of Rehoboth Beach is looking for sponsors so it can continue to offer discounted room rates for healthcare professionals, first responders and emergency personnel who are worried about taking COVID-19 to their families if they return home.

In an email April 29, Christian Hudson, Beebe Medical Foundation Board of Director chairman and co-owner of Hudson Management, said the hotel began offering a deeply discounted self-isolation package at the Fairfield Inn for any Beebe team members, but it snowballed to first responders of all kinds after community interest grew.

Jack Berbarian, ThinkSecureNet CEO and Beebe Medical Foundation Board of Director member, said all a person has to do is show up at the hotel with an identification badge, and let them know. The discounted package includes up to two weeks of stay – room, tax, all fees, Wifi, free breakfast and a welcome pack.

Several people have already taken advantage of the offer, he said, in an email May 6. The hotel is asking that people not stay there for leisure.

“We will need to depend on the honesty and integrity of those individuals requesting a room,” said Berbarian.

Berbarian said the Fairfield Inn will offer the package as long as the company has community members willing to sponsor the heroes. The rooms are not for COVID patients, he said.

“The goal was to make sure no one in our community who risks their life to save another has to look for a place to stay because they are afraid to carry COVID-19 back to their homes and loved ones,” said Berbarain.

For more information or to sponsor a room, call the Fairfield Inn & Suites, 19113 Coastal Highway, at 302-645-7766.
