Faith and Blue community events set Oct. 8-10

Spiritual leaders and police officers to engage with community
October 1, 2021

As part of a national Faith and Blue initiative, several local events will take place from Friday to Sunday, Oct. 8 to 10.

A Faith and Blue family and community movie night is set for 6 to 9 p.m., Oct. 8, on the green at Grain on the Rocks in Lewes. The community is invited to join local faith leaders, off-duty police officers and their families for this free outdoor movie event. Attendees can bring along a blanket, low-backed chair or even a bean bag chair to sit on. For those who arrive early, Grain on the Rocks will be open for dinner, beverages and hot snacks prior to the movie, and there is a playground on site. Free ice cream, popcorn, cold drinks and snacks will be available during the movie.

The rain date for the movie is Oct. 9. In the event of inclement weather, updates will be posted on the City of Rehoboth Beach and Rehoboth Beach Police Department Facebook pages.

Local law enforcement and community members will gather from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Oct. 8, to help Sussex County Habitat for Humanity at various build locations throughout the county.

A Faith and Blue community prayer will be held from 7 to 7:30 a.m., Oct. 10, at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand. Uniformed officers and community members are invited to attend.
