A family sailing adventure in the BVI with the Cape Gazette

August 25, 2019

In March, Captain Nick Carter and his wife, Laurie took their children, Annie and Co-Capt. Frank on a family sailing adventure in the British Virgin Islands aboard a 40 ft. Bali Catamaran.

“It was a trip of a lifetime,” said Laurie. “Going from island to island and being able to disconnect from everyday life with no interruptions gave us the opportunity for some real family bonding time. We all got to see first-hand the devastation caused by the effects of hurricanes Maria & Irma in 2017.”

Nick was amazed by the destruction that the storms caused compared to how it was when he visited in 2014. They may never completely recover, but they sure have come a long way in just a few years.

Here The Carters are shown at Foxy’s Yot Club, luckily Foxy’s fared both storms pretty well.
