Fanus Ulysse, achieved American dream

January 23, 2021

Fanus Ulysse was an entrepreneur. He was an honorable husband, a devoted father, but most importantly, a great friend. Fanus was a lifelong resident of Seaford, who unexpectedly transitioned Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021.

Fanus is survived by his wife, Marie V. Ulysse; his children and grandchildren Fanilia Ulysse, Andre Dion Fortt , Jerry Jean Louis, Jasmine Renee Fortt, Rania Saincy, Ashley Saincy-Louis, Mavenson Saincy-Louis, Stephanie Ulysse, Rosela Ulysse; grandchildren Rosenika Ulysse, Roseda Ulysse, Marie Nicole Civil, Naila Civil, Aniyah Nicole Gattis, Emanuel Ulysse, Karon Lamar Miles, Widley Doreleans, Fanise Civil, Zion, Malachi Jean Louis and Roger Civil Jr.

Fanus was born in Leogane, Haiti, to Confanie Baptiste-Ulysse and Meme Ulysse. Fanus migrated to the United States in the early ‘80s in the hopes of pursuing the American dream, and he did just that. He was a savvy businessman who enjoyed playing dominos with friends, telling jokes and reading the Bible. He was always willing to help any and everyone he came in contact with. He was a pillar in the Haitian community who was well respected and cherished.

Fanus touched many lives in the time that he was on earth; every interaction with him whether big or small always left a lasting impression. Fanus may be gone but he will never be forgotten; he lives on in his children, his wife and his legacy. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
Fanus favorite quote: “Jesus is best”
