The Delaware Farm Bureau is accepting applications for its 2026 summer internship program. College students seeking opportunities to connect with Delaware’s agricultural community and promote Delaware agriculture are encouraged to apply by Saturday, Jan. 31.
The farm bureau intern will spend the summer visiting local farms, engaging with farmers and agricultural professionals, creating marketing content and teaching agricultural lessons in local schools.
The role includes creating high-quality content that highlights the stories of Delaware farmers, fosters public engagement and strengthens recognition of the Delaware Farm Bureau brand.
The Delaware Farm Bureau Foundation is also offering a summer internship focused on agricultural education in elementary schools across the state. This position involves developing lessons, visiting schools and summer camps, and creating educational content.
Both interns will collaborate on projects, and gain valuable knowledge and connections within Delaware agriculture. Candidates who wish to be considered for both positions should indicate that in their applications.
Emerson Hickey, a 2025 farm bureau summer intern, said, “During my internship with the Delaware Farm Bureau, I had the opportunity to collaborate with dedicated professionals, develop valuable lifelong skills and gain hands-on experience in classroom settings, agricultural operations across the state and at Legislative Hall. This experience has provided me with lasting knowledge and memories that will continue to influence my personal and professional growth.”
Applicants should submit a resume, cover letter and one letter of recommendation from a previous employer or professor to mikayla.paul@defb.org by Jan. 31.
