Fick and Kozinski to read at Irish Eyes in Milton Aug. 26
Irene Fick and David Kozinski will be the featured authors for what will be the seventh in a series of literary readings hosted by Irish Eyes and The Broadkill Review.
The reading will take place Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 7 p.m., at Irish Eyes restaurant, 105 Union Street, Milton. An open mic for both prose and poetry will follow.
Kozinski, of Wilmington, won Delaware Literary Connection’s 2015 spring poetry contest for his poem, “I Hear it the Way I Want it to Be.” He was the 2009 winner of the Dogfish Head Poetry Prize for his chapbook “Loopholes,” and has been twice nominated for the Pushcart Prize. His work has appeared in numerous journals, including Schuylkill Valley Journal, Fox Chase Review, Philadelphia Storiesand Margie, to name a few. In November, 2014, he conducted a four-session poetry workshop for teens at Montgomery County (Pa.) Youth Center.
Fick is a former journalist and has written for newspapers and magazines and ran an editorial business with clients in healthcare, theology and education. Her chapbook, "The Stories We Tell," was published in 2014 and won both the Delaware Press Association’s and the National Federation of Press Women’s communications contest in poetry.
Her work has appeared in such journals as Philadelphia Stories, Adanna Literary Journal, The Broadkill Review and The Avocet. Fick co-authored a book on ethics in cancer care for the Pennsylvania Department of Health. She lives in Lewes, and is active in both Rehoboth Beach Writers Guild and Coast Writers.
Kozinski’s and Fick’s chapbooks were published by The Broadkill Press.
