Film society presents 'The Four-Faced Liar' Jan. 1

December 26, 2011

The Rehoboth Beach Film Society and CAMP Rehoboth are cosponsoring a screening of “The Four-Faced Liar” at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 1, as a part of the Another Take film series. The screening will be held in the upstairs screening room at Movies at Midway.

According to Joe Leydon of Variety, the female leads in the comedy “The Four-Faced Liar” deliver performances infused with “raw emotion and avid sensuality.” The film follows the romantic entanglements of a group of 20-somethings in New York City. Bridget, a hip, womanizing lesbian, loves Emily Bronte. Her equally hip, but straight, guy-pal Trip and Trip’s girlfriend Chloe meet Greg and Molly at the local dive, The Four-Faced Liar. Greg and Molly are very straitlaced and new to the city. In spite of these contrasts, Trip and Greg quickly form a platonic friendship, bonding over sports and video games. Molly, attending college to study literature, is at first appalled by Bridget’s free-spirited ways. But Molly soon finds herself attracted to Bridget, and hilarious complications arise as the two women fall deeper in love.

Tickets are $7 and can be purchased online at www.rehobothfilm.com, by calling 302-645-9095, Ext 1, or visiting the RBFS office 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.

The mission of the RBFS is to promote the art of film and, through outreach initiatives, to entertain, educate, and enrich the cultural life of local and extended communities. The Rehoboth Beach Film Society is funded, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
