Firefly announces 2016 lineup
Firefly Music Festival fans got an early look at the 2016 festival lineup this year after organizers announced Mumford & Sons, Kings of Leon, Florence & The Machine and Deadmau5 will join more than 100 additional acts Thursday, June 16, through Sunday, June 19.
Blink-182, Death Cab for Cutie, Ellie Goulding, Ludacris and The 1975 are also on the 2016 festival lineup, which was announced months earlier than in previous years.
"We wanted the 2016 lineup to reach a wide audience while resonating with our core Firefly community," said Christiane Pheil, talent and experience director at Firefly Music Festival. "We're confident this lineup does just that, and we look forward to celebrating our fifth year with music fans from around the world."
General admission and VIP passes go on sale at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 20, at fireflyfestival.com. Festival passes start at $279, and camping packages will also be available Friday, Nov. 20.
Kings of Leon is returning to the Woodlands at Dover as a Firefly Music Festival headliner after being rained out in 2015.
Firefly continues to partner with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through its Music Gives to St. Jude Kids program. Donations from Firefly fans will fund Firefly producer Red Frog Events' $25 million commitment to the St. Jude Red Frog Events Proton Therapy Center, opening later this year in Memphis.
