First Baptist 3-on-3 brings talent out to local tourney

March 13, 2019

The sixth annual First Baptist Church of Lewes 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament was held March 9 in Lewes.

The tournament brought out talented local middle and high school students for the exciting event.

“Each team plays 12 to 15 eight-minute games over the course of the day, culminating in a double-elimination championship bracket for each of two age divisions,” said First Baptist youth minister Jon Reddick. “The tournament is staffed by members and friends of the First Baptist Church of Lewes, without whom we couldn't possibly pull off such a fun and beneficial event. It has been fun to watch the kids improve through the years, especially when they start out small but tenacious and come back in later years to show what they've become.”

The Ballerz team took first place in the 16-and-under division, and the Wavvy Boys finished first in the 16-19 age bracket. Both teams won their respective draws without a single loss.
