First Lady Jill Biden spending time in North Shores home

President Joe Biden scheduled to be in Wilmington this weekend
April 16, 2021

According to the Secret Service agent stationed at a police checkpoint nearby, First Lady Jill Biden is spending time in her North Shores home. It’s the first time either she or President Joe Biden has visited the home since the president was sworn in Jan. 20.

According to a statement from the White House, Jill had a routine medical procedure April 14, came through it well and was expected to resume her normal schedule.

It doesn’t appear Joe will be joining her this weekend. According to the April 15 daily guidance and press schedule issued by the White House, the president will be in Wilmington over the weekend. He is scheduled to arrive there Friday, April 16.

The agent said the details of the checkpoint associated with Joe’s first visit to Rehoboth are still being worked out. However, he said, if the president was in town, it would be obvious.

The Cape Gazette first reported in January that Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control has given permission for Biden to use the parking lot at the Gordons Pond end of Cape Henlopen State Park for the Marine One helipad. The parking lot is just around the corner from the Bidens’ North Shores home.
