First State's culinary graduates get a taste of success

First State's Adult Culinary Arts Training Program recognized six graduates Jan. 8 for their successful completion of the 16-week culinary course under the instruction of Chef Lee Stewart. The students underwent more than 360 hours of intense study in basic and advanced culinary arts plus 80 hours of job shadowing and internship experience.
The students were tested and received their National Restaurant Association ServSafe Manager Certification in safe food handling as well as the state’s Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission Server Training.
As a gift, students received their very own culinary knife sets. The event was held in Georgetown at the agency's central Sussex training facility. Family and friends attended the graduation to celebrate their loved ones.
