Florence Mae Hall, retired auctioneer

April 3, 2020

Florence Mae Hall, 89, of Millsboro peacefully passed away with her husband at her side, in the loving care of her family and Vitas Hospice Tuesday, March 31, 2020.  She was born Nov. 2, 1930, in New River, Va., to the late Paul R. and Linda M. Brown.

Florence was a beautiful, blue-eyed lady who loved her family. She married James E. Hall July 4, 1959, and was the loving mother of four children.  She was the first lady auctioneer licensed in Delaware where she proudly auctioned at Iron Hill Auction. More recently, she volunteered at The Christian Storehouse in Millsboro. She enjoyed learning new skills and helping others. She was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and was a member of Oak Orchard Community Church.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James E. Hall; two sons, James McKee (Colleen) of Newark and David Hall (MaryAnn) of Dover; her sisters, Ruth Hurst and Shirley LaFrances; brothers, James Brown and Raymond Brown.  Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Draper; son, George McKee Sr.; and her brothers, Herschel Brown and Earl Brown.

Due to the current state of emergency and coronavirus conditions, her memorial service will be announced sometime after the declaration is lifted.  Services will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, with Pastor Allen Miller officiating.
