From the creators of EasySpeak in Milford will come a new restaurant experience in the form of Fondue, opening in early 2023 at 39 N. Walnut St.
According to owners Zack and Marissa King, the restaurant will focus on gourmet cheeses and chocolates with craft cocktails and desserts. The space will also include a dining room that can be rented out for special occasions.
The Kings purchased the former Penney Square building at 39 N. Walnut St. in early 2021 with the idea of developing it into a mixed-use space. In addition to Fondue, the complex will also include shops and other retail options.
The Kings also purchased the former M&T Bank building at the corner of Walnut and Front streets, which has existed in the center of downtown Milford for more than 100 years. It was purchased to become a Touch of Italy location in 2016, but those plans did not come to fruition and the building was put back up for sale in 2019 until the Kings bought it in December 2021. Plans for the building have not yet been announced.
