Food Bank drive-thru pickup set April 24

Sussex Central HS provides central location
April 16, 2020

To help address increased demands for food assistance during the coronavirus public health crisis, the Food Bank of Delaware will host drive-thru mobile pantries in each Delaware county for families struggling to afford food.

The Sussex County distribution will be held at noon, Friday, April 24, at Sussex Central High School, 26026 Patriots Way, Georgetown. Participants should follow the traffic message boards upon arrival at the school.

Clients are asked to bring proof of identification and Delaware residency. All food recipients must stay in their vehicle, and make sure before arrival that their trunks are cleared out so volunteers can load food with minimal interaction. To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, public restrooms will not be available.

Preregistration has been set up to help ease the check-in process. To preregister, go to sussexcountyfood.eventbrite.com. On-site registration will also be available for those who do not have computer or smartphone access. Preregistration does not guarantee assistance; food distribution will be first-come, first-served. Pickup is limited to one allotment per household.
