Francis P. Mele, loved boating, fishing

Francis P. Mele,  92,  of Rehoboth Beach passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018, at his residence.  Mr. Mele  was born Nov. 1, 1926, in Wilmington, son of the late  Anthony Mele and Elizabeth Dominick Mele.

Mr. Mele retired many years ago after working for Delcampo Baking Company of Wilmington.  He was an Army Air Corps veteran serving in Hawaii following the Pearl Harbor Attack.  Mr. Mele was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, Lewes, and a former member of Holy Rosary in Claymont.

He enjoyed cooking, and watching college and pro football, however his most enjoyment was the many happy times spent with his son boating and fishing and just being together.

He is survived by his son Francis J. Mele of Rehoboth Beach; a sister Elizabeth Nolan of Wilmington; and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 10, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, where friends may visit at the church beginning at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow Mass at Cathedral Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 185 Salem Church Road, Newark, DE 19713
