Frantic Music to host open mic at Sydney’s Nov. 19
The Frantic Music Project will present an open mic event at 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 19, at Sydney’s Restaurant & Lounge, 16388 Samuel Paynter Blvd., Milton.
Backline is provided, including PA, microphones, stands, electric guitar and bass amp, and drum kit. Solos, duos and small bands with original or cover music are welcome to this acoustic/electric event. Live sound is provided by King Pin Productions, and signups will begin at 3:45 p.m. on site.
This all-ages program is open to musicians of various skill levels and music stylings. Each performer/group will have the opportunity to perform up to two songs, not to exceed 10 minutes.
The open mic is a program designed to connect area musicians with other musicians and to those who enjoy live music. “In addition to some of the area’s familiar or new and up-and-coming artists, we always have a great audience,” said Mary Knight, Frantic Music Project co-founder. “The open mic provides encouragement and confidence to musicians who may have never had the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience.”
Sydney’s has a fantastic stage and provides the perfect atmosphere to enjoy great food, beverages and local live music. This is the first in a series of open mic events at Sydney’s that will be held on the first and third Sundays of the month with the same start time. Next month’s dates are Dec. 3 and 17.
Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling the venue at 302-313-4770.
The event is open to musicians and fans of live music, and there is no cover charge. Donations for Frantic Music Project are gratefully accepted.
Frantic Music Project is a 501c3 charitable organization with a mission to provide subsidized equipment, services and financial aid to economically challenged performing musicians, regardless of age, who currently have or are pursuing a music career in Delaware.
