March 15, 2014

The Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park will hold its annual flea market from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, April 12, at the Seaside Nature Center in the park.

Friends flea markets always have a robust selection of merchandise as well as Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park logo T-shirts and caps in a variety of colors and sizes as well as mini-kites.  Hot dogs and baked goods will be available. Bicycles may be borrowed free of charge at the Bike Barn adjacent to the Seaside Nature Center.

Anyone wishing to donate an item in good condition may drop it off at the Seaside Nature Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, April 11. Clothing is not being accepted or sold.

The Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park is a nonprofit organization made up of volunteers who donate their time to promote one of the crown jewels of Delaware’s state parks. They are strongly committed to public education about the park and believe that education leads to appreciation, conservation, and preservation.

In addition to their educational activities, Friends volunteers participate in a monthly Trails Day and a variety of other direct activities in the park. Friends raise money for specific park projects such as the Bike Barn, the renovation of the Hawk Watch and the new playground.
