Frozen Farmer Katey Evans returns to Shark Tank

Creamery sales nearing $1 million with another $15 million in sales committed
May 20, 2021

In a return appearance on ABC’s “Shark Tank” May 14, Katey Evans of Bridgeville-based The Frozen Farmer said that since her March 2020 deal with investor Lori Greiner, her business is nearing $1 million in sales with another $15 million in committed purchase orders.

Greiner’s investment of $125,000 for 30 percent of the farm creamery business relied on Evans’ ability to get The Frozen Farmer into a major national chain. Evans was able to get her products on the shelves of not just one national chain, but four, Greiner said.

“Katey Jo is probably one of the hardest working, most results-oriented entrepreneurs I’ve ever had,” Greiner told viewers, noting she loved Frozen Farmer’s commitment to using misfit fruit.

Evans said her company’s mission of reducing food waste is very important. Her line of ice creams, Froberts and sorbets made fresh from misfit fruits from the family farm can now be purchased in 8,000 stores nationwide, and can also be shipped directly to consumers.

Products include premium ice cream; dairy-free, gluten-free and fat-free sorbet; and Frobert, a signature, sorbet-ice cream blend with low sugar and fat content.
