The Gazette takes a rail journey around the Scottish Highlands
Brian and Sarah Gillespie of Lewes recently completed a rail journey around the Scottish Highlands. Their trip included a three-day stay at the Hotel Ballachulish near Fort William.
"Behind us, in the picture is Loch Linnhe, a saltwater lake that follows the line of the Great Glen Fault. Much of the landscape of the Scottish Highlands is breathtaking, yet is very sparsely populated." said Brian. "Highlights of our trip also included a ride aboard the Jacobite Steam Train used in the Harry Potter movies and visits to Duart and Eilean Donan Castles, Isle Of Mull, Inverness, Edinburgh and Kyle of Lochalsh. Thanks to our traveling companion from Australia, Maureen, who was so generous to take our picture with our favorite newspaper, the Cape Gazette."
