Geneva Olivet Edwards, enjoyed taking trips

Geneva Olivet Edwards, 71, of Lewes took her eternal rest Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at home surrounded by her loving family.  Geneva was born Jan. 11, 1949,  in Baltimore, Md., to the late Thelma (Leon) Morris, and the late Patrick Carrington.
Geneva was raised in Lewes and attended William C. Jason High School in Georgetown.  She met and married Billy C. Edwards Sr., and to this union they were blessed with three children: Lorrie Saez, and Billy C. Edwards Jr. and Erica Edwards.  She was a member of St. George's AME Church where she sang in the choir, and was a member of the missionary society.
She enjoyed taking trips and traveling.

She was preceded in death by parents Thelma (Leon) Morris and Patrick Carrington; her grandmother, Geneva Fletcher; her grandfather, John Fletcher; and her aunt, Sara White.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 51 years, Billy C. Edwards Sr.; her three children: Lorrie (Antonio Sr.) Saez, Billy (Christina) Edwards Jr. and Erica Edwards; five grandchildren: Antonio Jr. and Maya Saez and Tre, Vadaw and Briana Edwards; six great-granddaughters; her brother Leon W. Morris Jr.; and lifelong childhood friend, Geraldine Gillis.

Celebration of life private service was held April 18, at St. George's A.M.E Church, 317 Park Ave., Lewes.  Professional service entrusted to Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Millsboro.
