George and Joanie Nicholls of Millsboro are celebrating 60 years of marriage.
They first met when George came home on leave from serving in the Army, and Joanie was attending Tottenville High School in Staten Island, N.Y. The couple started dating in June 1957 and married July 27, 1959.
The Nicholls’ first son Richard was born May 25, 1963, and second son Scott was born June 25, 1965. They have two grandsons, Christopher and Matthew, and a granddaughter, Jenna.
