George F. Baker Jr., Delco retiree

Mr. George F. Baker Jr., 82, of Dagsboro, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012.

Mr. Baker was born Dec. 16, 1919, in West Chester, Pa., to the late Oliver C. and Mary Hodgdne Baker. He is preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

He retired from Delco Electric in Pennsylvania. He attended the Dagsboro Church of God. He was a member of AMvets and American Legion Post 28, and a member of the Navy reserves. He loved to dance, garden and was a hard worker. He was on “on the go guy” at all times.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Baker of Dagsboro; a son, George C. Baker and a daughter, Janice McClafferty; nine step-children, Timothy, Arlene, Darlene, Tina, Roger, Russell, Jesse, Virgil and Sarah; special friends Dan and Barbara Delcollo and Linda and Wilber Eshelman. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 17, at the Dagsboro Redmen’s Memorial Cemetery, Iron Branch Road, Dagsboro. Pastor Kim Tephabock will officiate. Arrangements made by Watson Funeral Home.
