George A. Reed, worked in trucking industry

George A. Reed, 55, of Georgetown passed away at his home Friday, Aug. 24, 2018.  George was born in Milford, son of Nancy (Warrington) Reed and the late Ralph Allan Reed.

George worked in the trucking industry for most of his life.  He was a graduate of Cape Henlopen High School class of 1981, was a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, and many years ago was a coach with Milton Little League.  His greatest pleasure came from spending time with his children and grandchildren, especially being involved in dirt track racing with his son Tyler.

He is survived by his two children, Chelsea White and her husband Tyler, and Tyler Reed and his wife Rachel; three grandchildren, Jase White, Hudson Reed and Delaney White; his mother, Nancy Reed and husband Francis “Fran” Jackson; and a sister, Christine Reed.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 30,in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton.  A funeral service and burial will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in George’s memory to: Milton Fire Department or Milton Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, 116 Front St., Milton, DE  19968.
