George Thomasson named 2020 Delaware Realtor of the Year

Lewes resident George Thomasson has been named the 2020 Delaware Realtor of the Year.

The award was presented Oct. 7 by Beau Zebley, 2020 president of the Delaware Association of Realtors, during its annual meeting and election of 2021 officers.

The award honors Realtors whose outstanding service has delivered positive impact both in their communities and the real estate industry at the national, state and local levels.

A partner of the Sprouse Thomasson Group and associate broker with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Gallo Realty in Lewes, Thomasson was also named Sussex County Association of Realtors 2020 Realtor of the Year in January. He has held numerous leadership positions with the Sussex association including serving as both first and second vice president. He was recently elected 2021 president-elect for the Sussex County Association of Realtors at its annual general membership meeting.

Thomasson has been a member of the DAR board of directors for the past two years, currently represents DAR on the National Association of Realtors Resort and Second Home Committee, and will represent Delaware during the upcoming NAR Annual Conference and Expo to be held virtually. Thomasson is currently serving his fifth year as a commissioner on the Lewes Historic Preservation and Architectural Review Commission. He stays active on a civic level promoting regionally focused lifestyle awareness as the co-founder and co-administrator of two popular social media groups, Junction and Breakwater Trail and The Gardens of Lewes, Delaware.
