Getting groceries at the Rehoboth A&P in 1960

December 6, 2022

Many longtime Cape Region locals will remember the A&P grocery store on the Forgotten Mile outside Rehoboth Beach. This image was made in September 1960, showing the once-popular A&P and a laundromat. The shopping center is now the Rehoboth Beach Plaza, home to All Saints’ Thrift Shop. Reporter Chris Flood reported a few weeks ago that Dano’s Tequila appeared to be setting up a Rehoboth office in the shopping center too. Obviously the building gained additions off both sides over the years, but the original building is still evident today. In the field beyond the A&P was the Rehoboth Beach Little League field.
