Giving thanks for Beebe blessings
At Thanksgiving, as I reflect on the many blessings of Beebe Healthcare, first and foremost, I want to say thank you to the excellent team members I am privileged to work with who provide excellent and compassionate care each and every day.
As I look back over the past several months, our patient encounters have seen record highs, and our team members’ commitment to those patients has grown even stronger. Patients and families have often referred to our team as Beebe Heroes, and I wholeheartedly agree! It is my honor each month to present the LOVE (Living Our Values Everyday) Letter Award to a colleague who exemplifies Beebe at its finest.
I am grateful to my colleagues on our leadership team who have recommitted to Beebe’s extraordinary patient-centered culture. We recently received an “A” grade for patient safety from the Leapfrog Group. This achievement demonstrates our commitment to the highest levels of quality and safety for all the patients – often our friends and neighbors – that we are privileged to care for in their time of need. Patient satisfaction scores have risen as we have worked hard to improve the overall experience our patients, families, and visitors receive. Patient care is at the forefront of everyone’s thoughts and actions every minute of every day. Leaders begin each of their meetings with a patient story that shares a personal experience and connects us to our mission.
The Celebrate Excellent Care Program coordinated by the Beebe Medical Foundation is an amazing project that not only shares the patient story, but recognizes and thanks the Beebe Heroes who cared for the patient. Attending these celebrations makes me very proud of our team. Each Tuesday in the Cape Gazette, one of these stories is told by our grateful patients who make a gift to Beebe to honor those who have saved and changed their lives.
I am also incredibly thankful for all of our donors who have made proud, personal gifts and invested in Beebe Healthcare through the I Believe in Beebe Campaign. I am inspired by the generosity of the community members who so proudly support Beebe Healthcare and share with me that Beebe is their No. 1 organization to support. These donors and their tremendous generosity are truly helping us to create the Next Generation of Care for our region. We are so very grateful.
I am also thankful for our tremendous group of 1916 Club donors. More than 325 members who contribute to this leadership giving society raise over $600K annually to support Beebe Healthcare. Thank you to those of you in the club, and I invite those who are not members to join me in the 1916 Club by visiting beebemedicalfoundation.org. Our team members proudly support Beebe. Our Medical Staff proudly supports Beebe. I proudly support Beebe! I hope you will too.
Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season with your loved ones. We hope your holidays do not include an emergency visit at Beebe; however, if need be, we are here for you. Thank you to our team members who so willingly sacrifice time with their families to be here for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Happy Thanksgiving!
