The Harry K Foundation held its annual Glitz and Glam Fashion Show and Luncheon Sept. 12 at Nassau Valley Vineyards to raise money to help children in Delaware fight food insecurity. The event was catered by Retro Street Eats and Custom Catering. For those in attendance, it was a day filled with fashion, food and philanthropy.
The event featured fashions by Saltwater Roots and Jenny Leigh Boutique; $20 grab bags valued at a minimum of $25, with one bag valued at $800; and chances to win a $500 gift card to Harry K Jewelry. The event also had a 50/50.
Proceeds will go toward feeding food insecure children, which costs around $286 per child per year. To avoid unwanted attention, a child receives a backpack each Friday filled with enough food to last the weekend. On Monday, the empty backpack is returned, and the process begins again.
Harry Keswani, foundation founder, said, “When children are fed, their futures are nourished and they can reach their full potential.”
