Good Sam Club sets Camporee programs Sept. 11-13

Delaware Good Sam Club announces the program, entertainment and vendors for the 2015 Delaware State Samboree Family Camping Event at the Delaware State Fairgrounds in Harrington, Friday to Sunday, Sept. 11 to 13, with an early bird day Thursday, Sept. 10.

The Delaware State Samboree program has a host of fun themed activities. This year’s theme is A Night at the Movies. Early bird day Sept. 10 will include theme basket voting, RV theme decorating contest, silent auction, souvenir photos, chapter table decorating, puzzle and game time, Chinese auction, alcohol ink painting, book and a flick and more.

Sept. 11 activities will include hospitality, seminar by pilot, scavenger hunt, matinee, corn hole competition, brown bag charity auction, craft, opening ceremonies, ice cream, social hour and games.

Sept. 12 will include hospitality, Humor for the Health of It presented by Carol Moore, cork necklace craft, flea and craft market, bean bag baseball competition, Chinese auction, dinner catered by Smith’s Family Restaurant, theme parade costume contest, and a dance party by Reedy’s DJ Connection.

Sept. 13 will include hospitality, The Brittons Sight and Sound Ministry when campers see a beautiful chalk picture take shape before their eyes, closing ceremonies plus great door prizes. Throughout the weekend, Delaware Good Sam will be raising monies through the different activities for the following charities: Gift of Life, Dogs for the Deaf, Cure SMA and a local food bank. Campers will have fun and raise money for some great causes.

Vendors include Firehouse Crab Balls from Williamsport, Md., specializing in crab cakes, Maryland crab soup, crab dip, fried cod, soft shell crab sandwiches and breakfast sandwiches. Bath Saver Inc., Bath Fitters will have information on bath safety. BOE Marine & RV from Stevensville, Md., will help with RV needs and have RV units on display for the public to view. Delmarva RV Center from Milford  will have several RV units for the public to view and provide information on local RV centers. Samantha Ariel Photography from Millville Town Peddler in Millville will be available to do VIP photo shoots for souvenir photos, and she will also have original artwork for purchase. Where You RV Services from Frederica will have information on RV inspections and mobile service. A representative from the new Resort at Massey’s Landing will provide information on the resort opening in 2016.

Door prize and goody bag donors and sponsors include Blue Ox, Byler's, Camping World, Delmarva Happy Campers, Dogs for the Deaf, Good Sam Club, Holiday Park Campground, HWH Corporation, Millville Town Peddler, Milton Chamber of Commerce, Parkview RV Center, Pennsylvania Camping Association, Pratt Insurance Inc., Prest-o-Fit, Reynolds Back Door Surfboards, RV Fog Doctor, Samantha Ariel Photography, Super Seal Specialty Co., Thin-Lite Corporation, Tom’s Cove Park, Udderly Smooth, Valterra, Walex and Winegard Company.

All campers are invited to attend the 2015 Delaware State Samboree, no membership required. Cost for the weekend is $95 for preregistration or $100 at the gate.
