Following a successful first season, Grain On The Rocks is bringing back its Rocking the Docks summer concert series.
From 5 to 7 p.m., every Thursday beginning June 24, music lovers will have the opportunity to see live music in a socially distanced atmosphere on the grassy area next to the Cape May-Lewes Ferry terminal off Cape Henlopen Drive.
Like last year, concertgoers may reserve 10-by-10-foot squares. Each square can accommodate up to four people. Guests should bring their own chairs; they can order food and drinks from their smartphone to be delivered to their square.
Grain co-owner Lee Mikles says the squares will remain throughout the summer, even as the state begins to relax COVID-19 regulations.
“We got such good feedback on how people enjoyed seeing a concert that way, we figured we would stick with it,” he said.
This year’s schedule will kick off Thursday, June 24, with Betty and the Bullet, and a new act will perform every Thursday until Sept. 9, when Joey Harkum will close out the season. The schedule features several returning acts, including Pressing Strings on July 8, Jocelyn & Chris on July 29 and Skribe on Aug. 26.
New this year is a season ticket option. With prices ranging from $575 to $695, a season ticket ensures access to a square for every show on the schedule. Season tickets will be on sale from 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 19 through 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 2.
Individual tickets will range from $40 to $80 per square. There will be five VIP squares allowed access to the Dogfish Head area with a dedicated server and choice of the full Grain menu. Individual tickets go on sale June 2.
