Griswold Home Care honors former Lewes franchise owner

May 9, 2022

Griswold Home Care recently announced that the company’s prestigious Integrity Award will be named after Maryanne Murray, former owner of the Griswold Home Care offices in Lewes and Wilmington.

The annual Integrity Award is presented to a franchisee whose office shows impeccable standards, quality and trust.

"I love Griswold Home Care, and helping families care for loved ones has greatly enriched my life,” said Murray. “I have a spiritual mission to succeed in offering the best caregivers at the most affordable price. Griswold Home Care has employed thousands of caring people who receive a living wage doing what they love, helping others.”

Murray is currently partnering with her daughter, Erin Pickrell, in developing the office in Bethesda-Chevy Chase, Md. She also is chair of the Jean Griswold Foundation, which raises money to provide scholarships to caregivers, enhancing their skills and job satisfaction.

In naming the Integrity Award for Murray, CEO Michael Slupecki noted that she has been involved with Griswold Home Care for almost 25 years, having worked first for founder Jean Griswold in a Pennsylvania office, then purchasing the Wilmington office in 1999.

The citation states: "Her dedication to not only serving older adults, but also serving caregivers, community members, and families … shows her commitment to older adults and to her community. Maryanne has been a key mentor for many Griswold Home Care owners, guiding them through the process of business ownership."

"I am surprised and honored to be recognized in this way," said Murray. "I am privileged to be a part of this wonderful community resource and believe I have received far more than I have given.”

With 170 locations in 30 states, Griswold Home Care is headquartered in Blue Bell, Pa., and is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
