Grotto Pizza names Morrison general manager in Dewey Beach
Jeff Gosnear, president of Grotto Pizza, recently announced Daphne Morrison has been promoted to general manager of the Dewey Beach location.
She succeeds Mike Mozer in the role, as he moves on to serve as general manager of the Newark Grotto Pizza.
“Mike and Daphne have worked at several of our locations, and they know our culture and mission,” Gosnear said. “They are both excellent leaders with bright futures.”
Mozer started working at Grotto Pizza on Rehoboth Avenue in May 2010, the day after his high school graduation. He later interned in the marketing department before becoming the general manager in the newly built Dewey location. “I have met so many awesome, hardworking people over the years and made lifelong friendships,” said Mozer, a surfer with a penchant for classic pepperoni pizza.
Meanwhile, Morrison lived on Maui before moving to Virginia in middle school with her family. “I moved to Delaware after college because I had to be near the ocean,” she said. Not surprisingly, Hawaiian is her favorite pizza flavor.
She started working at Grotto Pizza in 2014 as a counter employee in the downtown Bethany Beach store, and she now lives in Bethany.
Like Mozer, she said the people are the best thing about working at Grotto Pizza. “They’re like family,” said Morrison.
