A Harbeson man faces burglary and theft charges after police say he stole property June 4 from an Oak Orchard fire company.
Delaware State Police responded to a burglary at the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, where they learned Eugene Marple, 52, allegedly entered the fire station through an unsecured door. Once inside, police said, Marple allegedly damaged an office door, stole property and fled the scene. Police arrested Marple June 5 without incident.
Marple, who is not a member of the fire company, was charged with felony third-degree burglary, theft under $1,500 and criminal mischief under $1,000. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on a $3,500 unsecured bond.
