Harbor of Refuge Lighthouse monthly tours to start June 18
Volunteers from the Delaware River and Bay Lighthouse Foundation have readied the Harbor of Refuge Lighthouse for the summer 2022 tours.
Tours are scheduled for 12 and 1:15 p.m., Saturday, June 18; 10:30 and 11:45 a.m., Saturday, July 16; 9:30 and 10:45 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 13; and 1:30 and 2:45 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17. Tours depart from the Cape May-Lewes Ferry terminal. The minimum age for participants is 12.
Once inside the lighthouse, patrons will be able to climb the stairway to the watch room and see the light turning in the lantern room. Each floor offers a stunning view of the National Harbor of Refuge. Volunteers will be on hand to talk about the history of the lighthouse.
Money raised from the cruises and tours will be used to fund ongoing maintenance of the lighthouse.
