Having fun in Michigan with the Cape Gazette

Cape Gazette readers and residents of the Independence community in Millsboro recently traveled to Mackinac Island, Michigan, where they stayed at the beautiful Grand Hotel. No motor vehicles are allowed on the island, so transportation is by horse-drawn carriage, bicycles, or on foot. The trip also included a visit to Meadow Brook Hall, the Bay City home of the widow of auto pioneer John Dodge. Another highlight of the trip was spending the day in Dearborn, where they watched the assembly of Ford F150 pickup trucks and visited the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation.
