The University of Delaware Cooperative Extension, in partnership with community organizations throughout the state, will host Walk+Roll community-based physical activity clubs this fall.
Led by Walk+Roll leaders who are CPR-certified, sessions will consist of a warm-up, light stretching, a walking/rolling session and a cool-down. The public is invited to join this program to walk and roll into better health. All sites are wheelchair and stroller accessible.
In Sussex County for Session 1, groups will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Fridays, Sept. 5 to Oct. 10, at Sandhill Fields, 20330 Sand Hill Road, Georgetown. This site has a bilingual Spanish Walk+Roll leader.
Preregistration is strongly encouraged, and the deadline to sign up for Session 1 is Wednesday, Aug. 20. Space is limited. Onsite registration is available for those who are unable to meet the preregistration deadline. Waivers are available at club locations and must be signed prior to participating. Participants should arrive 15 minutes early to complete paperwork.
