The organizers of Henlopen Springfest plan to deliver fun from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, May 27, at Hudson Fields, 29763 Eagle Crest Road, Milton.

The entry fee for this charity event is $10. Ages 12 and under are admitted free. There are additional fees to participate in the cornhole tournament, and car and truck show, both of which offer prizes. Axe throwing will also be available.

Kids’ activities include bounce houses, an inflatable obstacle course with slide, and jumbo pipe races. A magician will be on hand, and face painting will be available. An entire section dedicated to touch-a-truck will delight children with opportunities to see their favorite vehicles, ranging from a crane to construction vehicles and everything in between. Memorial Fire Company of Slaughter Beach will offer rides on its fire truck.

Merchandise vendors will be on site, set to the backdrop of live music from noon to 6 p.m.

The music lineup starts with Jovon Newman performing pop and country from 12 to 12:45 p.m., followed by classic rock band Electric Velvet from 1 to 3 p.m., topped off by area favorite Mike Hines and The Look from 4 to 6 p.m.

Throughout the day, first responders will be on hand to provide demonstrations. The Delaware State Police Aviation Unit will have its helicopter on site from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Milford Police Department’s police dog demonstrations are set for 1 to 3 p.m. Delaware State Police will also have representation from its motorcycle, scuba and bomb squads. Milton, Lewes and Ellendale fire companies will be on hand with equipment as well.

Now in its 12th year, the annual car and truck show hosted by Endeavor Lodge No. 17 that usually takes place in Milton each June will be part of this year’s Henlopen Springfest. From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., participants may register their vehicles for $25. Awards include best in each class, with the winner to receive $300. This event is also a celebration of Endeavor Lodge No. 17’’s 175 years of service to the community. There will also be a 50/50 and other raffles.

The double-elimination cornhole tournament starts at noon. Registration takes place from 9 to 11:30 a.m., and the fee is $30 per participant in addition to entry fee. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams.

Henlopen Springfest will benefit groups such as Shriner's Hospitals for Children, Home of the Brave, and groups supporting local first responders and local families in need of essentials like food and clothing.
