Henry Alton Timmons, Army veteran
Henry Alton Timmons, 64, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025. Henry was born in Lewes and was raised on the Eastern Shore by his loving parents.
Henry was a graduate of Sussex Central High School in 1980. Henry served in the armed forces (Army honorable discharge) from 1981-84 (active duty) and served an additional six years in the Army Reserve.
Henry was preceded in death by his father, Ernest A. Timmons; his mother, Florence E. Noel; and siblings, Joe and Jennilee.
Henry is survived by his children, Traci L. Dean, Taryn L. Timmons Erkelens and Trevor A. Timmons; and his two beautiful granddaughters, Molly and Phoebe. In addition, he is survived by several siblings, Ernest, Joann, Susan, Frankie, David and Libby.
Some would say Henry was a true free spirit, fun-loving, and made friends easily. He loved traveling to South Florida, where he spent a great deal of time while growing up. He truly loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, boating (or anything near the water), camping, and riding his motorcycle.
A service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 1, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro. Direct flowers to the cemetery.
