Hindu leader to speak at One God, One Love Interfaith Series Aug. 10

August 5, 2016

The Episcopal Parish of All Saints' Church and St. George's Chapel is hosting a summer series, One God, One Love, with the purpose of expanding the local community's interfaith dialogue and multicultural respect, and of exploring the positive effects spiritual practices have on well-being. The series concludes Wednesday, Aug. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m., at All Saints' Church, 18 Olive Ave. in Rehoboth Beach, and is free of charge and begins with supper.

Pramod (Paul) K. Mathur of the Hindu Temple of Delaware in Hockessin will be the discussion presenter. Mathur has been a very active Hindu for three decades, and has been teaching the key Hindu scripture called the Gita during that time. He has worked as a chemical engineer for DuPont and then the spinoff company Chemours since graduating with a master’s degree from the University of Delaware, and is currently global technology manager for fluorochemicals. He is a founding member and a trustee of the temple, which opened in 2002, and although not a cleric, he provides services at the last rites ceremonies.

"Paul is a new member appointed by Governor Markell to the interfaith Delaware Council of Faith-based Partnerships," said Father Max Wolf, a council member. "His presentation will help dispel some of the myths and misconceptions we might have about Hinduism, as my visit to their temple did for me, and also enhance our understanding of our own faith."
