Historic Lewes Farmers Market marks 17 years

Even a weekend nor’easter didn’t dampen vendors and shoppers at start of another season
May 9, 2022

When Historic Lewes Farmers Market director Helaine Harris rang the opening bell precisely at 8 a.m., May 7, people were already waiting to shop from the vendors who braved a nor’easter to kick off the market’s 17th season. Because of the weather, the market moved to a new location in the parking lot of Lewes Elementary School.

The market will take place at George H. P. Smith Park from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays until Sept. 24. The market will also be open from 8 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays from June 1 to Sept. 24 to at Crooked Hammock Brewery off Kings Highway, Lewes.
