The Historic Lewes Farmers Market will celebrate the opening day for its Wednesday Market from 8 to 11:30 a.m., June 4, at Crooked Hammock Brewery, 36707 Crooked Hammock Way, Lewes.
The Wednesday Market has doubled since last year, and 16 farmers and producers will bring beautiful snap peas, strawberries, spinach, arugula, fresh-cut asparagus, lettuces, kale, turnips, radishes, honey, mushrooms, grass-fed beef, pasture-raised chicken, beef jerky, pork, lamb, eggs, herb, veggie and flower plants, fresh-baked breads, pastries made with fruit from the market, gluten-free offerings, donuts, ice cream treats, jams and jellies, cut-flower bouquets and more.
The HLFM is producer-only, so customers connect directly with the farmer who grew the produce and raised the animals. New Wednesday Market vendors include Anya’s Homestead from Ellendale, with eggs and a vibrant mix of heirloom varieties of herbs, fruits and vegetables; and Cross Farms from Berlin, Md., offering a wide selection of vegetables and fruits grown with a focus on soil health and sustainability, as well as farm eggs. Returning to the Wednesday Market is Bodine Farms from Hartly, with pasture-raised, high-quality cuts of beef, pork and lamb.
The Frozen Farmer ice cream truck, Kahiau’s Bakery and Nancy James Oysters will now be at the Wednesday Market as well, joining the returning Bennett Orchards, Cosmic Dog Farm, Davidson’s Exotic Mushrooms, Dittmar Family Farms, Dream Catcher Homestead, Kalmar Farm, Old World Breads, the Point Coffee House and Bakery, Stag Run Farm and Summer Moments Floral.
Patrons should note that dogs and other pets (except for service animals) are not permitted inside the market to ensure the safety of customers, vendors and volunteers.

The market processes payments from Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program, and Women, Infants and Children Program benefits, and continues to match SNAP up to $20 per market, per customer. Customers may go to the SNAP tent to process SNAP/EBT.
