HOB students mark holidays around world

Classes learn about light celebrations, collect food donations
December 29, 2021

Throughout December, H.O. Brittingham Elementary students learned about light celebrations around the world while also holding a food and essentials donation drive to benefit local people in need.

Classes studied celebrations in countries including Estonia, Germany, China, England and India, and created art projects related to each nation’s customs and traditions. Then, students took a trip around the world Dec. 20, visiting each grade-level collaborative area to view projects.

The student leadership team held a food and essentials drive, and decorated giving trees donated by the school PTO that were used to gather donations, which were picked up for delivery just before the holiday break. In 2022, students said, they plan to hold a supplies drive for local animal shelters.
