Holiday fitness gift guide 2015

December 5, 2015

Looking for that perfect gift for your fitness-oriented significant other? Why not give something that fits their active lifestyle? Try any or all of my 2015 fitness gift guide ideas below. These gifts are perfect choices for someone who spends several hours a week in the gym and puts a great deal of energy into staying in shape and being healthy. Why not reward them with something original this holiday season?

Silicone wedding bands

I wish I had a nickel for each time I found a wedding band at the gym that was removed by a well-intended person trying to prevent bending or damage caused by the weightlifting bar. There is now an easy solution for the fitness fanatic in your life, just buy them a quality silicone wedding band. These bands come in very cool colors and designs, including my favorite camouflage. They will never bend or break and therefore there is no need to ever take them off, even if you're engaged in an intense, explosive workout. Since they are more affordable than the real thing, why not get a few different types as they will make excellent stocking stuffers. To get your silicone wedding bands, go to qalo.com and start shopping.

Atlas power wraps

Wrist wraps are used to support the wrist joint during many weightlifting and CrossFit exercises. Until now they have been boring white pieces of elastic with no style or character, but Atlas Power Wraps put a fresh and interesting twist on an otherwise dull product. Atlas wraps will customize your wraps with your gym's logo, favorite quote, color combo or theme, and they would make a perfect gift for the gym rat who has everything. To order yours, go to Atlaswraps.com and chose from the many colors and prints.

Fitness crate

A great idea for the special fitness buff on your list is to buy them a monthly subscription to a fitness gift box. There are several different types of monthly subscriptions available, but the general idea is the same for each. For a monthly price, each company will send the person you are gifting a box jammed with hand-picked fitness apparel, healthy foods or supplements they can try out and use in their pursuit of a healthy lifestyle. The best part about this gift is each month they won’t know exactly what’s in the box until they open it, adding an element of surprise and reinforcing the old cliché of the gift that keeps on giving. For more information, try Gym Crate at thegymcrate.com, this subscription includes apparel, new workout routines, recipes and brand-name supplements.

Nuts and more

If the person you’re buying for loves healthy peanut butter like most people who work out do, try the awesome taste of the various flavors offered by a company called Nuts N’ More. This company was originally featured on Shark Tank. It was created by three guys looking for ways to get higher-quality protein into their diets without eating sugary protein bars, so they made the first mass-produced, high-protein peanut butter spreads that contain whey. They have twice the amount of protein, making them healthy muscle-building snack foods. My favorite flavor is Toffee Crunch, but there are many more different flavors to choose from. To order yours, go to Nuts-n-more.com.

Don’t give the same old boring gifts this season. Instead, get something that will fit the fitness lifestyle for the gym rat in your life, and choose something original from the 2015 Ask the Trainer holiday gift guide.
