Homestead Campground raises funds for American Cancer Society

Homestead Campground recently raised funds to support the American Cancer Society, netting $8,739 dollars for its Relay for Life.
This money was raised July 31 through raffles and bake sales, a golf cart and car wash, poker run, bike run and cornhole tournament. Pistol Whipped performed live music after the activities.
An additional $3,000 was raised for a Homestead Campground resident who is currently battling cancer.
Each year, the campground holds four fundraisers for local charities including a designated animal rescue organization, a veterans group, a health charity and a food support organization. This year, Homestead beneficiaries have been Home of the Brave in Milford, Grass Roots Rescue, the American Cancer Society and the Cape Henlopen Food Basket.
“Despite the hardships that many folks faced this past year, we're proud to see how much support still rises above from community support, even if it's just a campground. There's a strong sense of community here, and I'm happy to help recognize our campers and their commitment to helping those in need,” said Brian Dawson, Homestead Campground general manager.
