Honorio Velasquez Velasquez, had a passion for soccer

Honorio Velasquez Velasquez, 28, of Georgetown, passed away Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, at El Nopalito in Georgetown. He was born Nov. 19, 1993, in San Marcos, Guatemala, son of Gumersindo Velasquez Zacarias and Ilvia Rosario Velasquez Soto.

Honorio had a passion for soccer and loved stand-up comedy. He was always a very positive person with anyone and everyone. Honorio was very uplifting and a child at heart. He was always down to dance, and catching the sunset and sunrise at the beach was always a priority.

Honorio is survived by his sisters: Onelia Velasquez, Illana Velasquez, Ileny Velasquez, and Yareli Velasquez; his niece, Mayelin Zunun Velasquez; his nephews: Dennis Zunun Velasquez and Jeff Zunun Velasquez; his girlfriend, Cristina Lopez and their dog, Jefe.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 12, at noon, at Calvary Baptist Church, 22860 DuPont Blvd., Georgetown. A viewing will be held Saturday, Feb. 12, at 1 p.m., at Calvary Baptist Church. Interment will follow the viewing at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Georgetown.
