Horseshoe Crab & Shorebird Festival launches passport for prizes

May 12, 2021

To kick off a celebration of the local wildlife and environment in Southern Delaware, the Milton Chamber of Commerce and the Horseshoe Crab & Shorebird Festival Committee announce the Coastal Adventure Passport.

Passport holders can visit and explore five designated locations that highlight some of Delaware’s amazing natural resources and habitats. Questions about each site must be answered on the passport. Completed passports may be turned in for a chance to win one of several prizes including outdoor adventure experiences and nature-related products.

To obtain a copy of the Coastal Adventure Passport, visit the Mercantile at 109 Union St. in downtown Milton. To print from home, go to historicmilton.com

Completed passports may turned in at the Mercantile or to Milton chamber table at the Horseshoe Crab & Shorebird Festival Saturday, May 29. They also can be scanned and emailed to chamber@historicmilton.com. Prize winners will be announced in early June.

Confirmed vendors include Old Dog Woodcrafts, Cape Custom Art, Hammer & Stain, Crafts by Island Girl and many others.

Educational exhibits for kids will be provided by the Friends of Prime Hook, DuPont Nature Center, Envirotech, and the University of Delaware Sea Grant. CopyCat Paint Parties will be doing face painting.

Attendees will have multiple opportunities to win prizes throughout the day and there will be a 50/50 raffle. Funds raised will benefit Friends of Prime Hook. The festival committee, which includes members of the Milton Chamber of Commerce, DNREC’s DuPont Nature Center, and Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge, thanks all event sponsors for helping to put on the 2021 Horseshoe Crab & Shorebird Festival.
